Guides Splash Out!
Seven members of an Easingwold Guide Unit recently spent a day at our Tholthorpe Depot washing buses to raise funds for their trip to Austria in August. The local girls have joined forces with Guides from Driffield in East Yorkshire to travel to Austria this summer for ten days, where they will be experiencing this beautiful country as representatives of Girlguiding UK. Between them they are frantically trying to raise the necessary £5000+ for their journey, and with the fund currently standing at just over the £3000 mark every little helps.
So one sunny day in April five girls arrived at Tholthorpe to do a sponsored bus wash, which involved people sponsoring them to, well, wash a few buses! In fact they washed three full sized coaches between them, plus three cars, five Guides and even a couple of leaders if they strayed too close! There were a lot more soap suds than was strictly necessary and some very, very wet Guides, but the girls had lots of fun on a sunny day and raised well over £150 to their cause. Stephensons were delighted to provide the buses, equipment, water and bubbles to help these hard working girls get a bit closer to their goal.
