GPS Vehicle Tracking Now Installed On All Service Buses
In a move costing several thousands of pounds, Stephensons have recently completed an installation programme that sees every service bus now fully fitted with the latest GPS (Global Positioning System) technology, to allows Managers to accurately monitor exactly where each bus is at any given time. In addition the system can replay a vehicle's exact movements for any previous day. Amongst the benefit to passengers is a much improved system of control over the daily operation of a fleet of 12 service buses, which in turn leads to greater reliability of buses in rural areas.
David Stephenson says "We are very excited about the new tracking system for service vehicles. It allows us to monitor and review the effectivness of timings on routes, as well as serving to higlight any ares of concern. The system also identifies speed of vehicles, their location and even whether the engine is running when it shouldn't be! It is still early days but I can already confirm that we are considering rolling the project on to cover our entire fleet of 55 vehicles"
This project forms part of Stephensons continued policy of investment and improvement in the service that it is providing to it's customers and the local area.
